Is A Spare On A Roof Rack A Bad Idea

Hey guys coming to you with a two part question.

Is a spare on a roof rack a bad idea. I kinda like the deflated spare tire idea. The idea is to build a bumper or body mounted spare tire carrier. Spare tyres on roof racks.
